I just got home and one of my mollies is sick, the scales are like pinecones and his eyes are bulgy!!! PLEASE i think it might be dropsy but not sure, all my LFS are closed because of the time, so what do i do now to help??:blueshake:
Sorry to hear of this problem.
Stores are closed. I would do a 50% water change tonight, then pick up some Maracyn-Two in the morning and start treatment.
Hope the molly recovers, dropsy can be hard to cure.
If you can get both Maracyn & Maracyn-two and use them together, it would be even better.
i got maracyn tc, and the LFS said it would be risky because i have tetras in the tank and they dont know if its worth the risk because the molly is in really BAD shape and it is kinda too late for the antibiotic to save him.... his scales are really bad like pinecones, his eyes and stomach r bloated...
Sounds like Dropsy and Popeye from the descriptions, don't know a whole lot about Popeye but I know a bit about Dropsy. If your Molly really appears miserable and just doesn't seem to be able to swim or eat properly, it might be time you euthanize him I'm sorry to say :-( Usually by the time pineconing occurs, the disease is beyond cure, so I've read.
