I need some good fish flake brands that can be fed to bettas and tetras. I am willing to pay a decent price, because my last betta couldn't handle tetra-brand and got bloated after feeding. If I didn't feed him for a day he looked normal. I don't want to buy it online, but I still can probably find it, because there is a big aquarium shop with a large selection of fancy looking brands. I don't want betta food, because the betta will be with the tetras, so one kind of food will be easiest.
Yes, the Omega One brand is excellent food, and they make several types so you can feed a variety. They have a basic flake food, a colour flake food, a kelp flake food [good for the "green" stuff], and others.
Hikari is another good brand, their micro pellet food is one I use regularly.
It is always best to have 3 or 4 different types and alternate daily.
:yourock:I bought Omega one color, tropical, and veggie flakes. The fish loved it as opposed to tetra brand food. Also I didn't know all about alternating. I thought it was one kind of flake, and some freeze dried bloodworms/brine shrimp. Thanks both of you.
Petco has Omega One on sale...buy 2 or more and get 50% off. Ends 10/15/11. My betta really likes the Omega One flakes I feed my tetras. New Life Spectrum is another one that is highly regarded but is pretty pricey.
The absolute best is New life spectrum, their food has the perfect nutrition for fish. They carry flakes and floating pellets. Omega One is a close second. You can't go wrong with either of these two.
I feed Omega One flakes and have you ever noticed your fish not eating the "white" flakes? by white i mean the lighter colored ones. my rainbows eat them then spit it right out lol
all the reds colored gets devoured and the white floats to the bottom. pretty wierd.
My gourami did this with lighter or white TetraColor flakes. I think they have different flavors, but the gourami will eat the Omega One flakes flakes are light colored, just not Tetra ones. She also finds my finger to be appetizing, and it's REALLY white.
I second NLS. Simply high quality ingredients. Posted via Mobile Device
