It is awful having to put an animal - ANY animal - to sleep. :( But, she was obviously not happy for whatever reason. Her aggression could have been due to some underlying cause that there was no way to discover. A lot of people might disagree with me, but I believe that fish feel pain - and maybe that was why she was so cranky.

Anyway, she is in a good place now, and she will be much happier. She will finally be at peace.

Wow, I sound like a nut! LOL But I DO honestly believe that there is much more to animals than is given credit.

Be easy on yourself. It was the best thing to do.

Ah, the serenity......nothing more relaxing or beautiful to look at than fish gliding around their tank......

Thank you so much for your compassion Amberjade. You are right, it is never easy and it bothers me still, but I do believe it was for the best. All of my other fish are happier now. So far, the war is over. At least until some of my other fish get bigger. Hopefully by then my plants will have filled in a lot and there will be plenty of places to hide.
