Well it looks like my tank is "maturing", or at least I hope so. My ammonia has stayed down, my nitrites seem to be stuck at ~1ppm (or 5ppm, but I hope its 1) and my nitrates are up to about 10ppm. I am doing a pwc every 2-3 days with prime, and also treating the tetras for ich (I left the carbon in )
They all seem ok, I have some algea growing which I will leave for now, and its only growing on the front glass? weird. The plants are alive I think. Over all seems to be going ok now, I owe it all to Byron and 1077 and the articles found here, THANK YOU! Hopefully the nitrites will start going down soon, I'd like to add some new angels already!! I'll keep you guys posted. :)

Well its been about 2 days since I tested the water... And today the nitrites are at zerooooo!! I did to a pwc 3 days ago with a little prime, but I don't think that caused a nitrite drop this big since it hasnt with the previous changes. Ammonia is also at 0, and my nitrates are ~10ppm. I will be removing some algea from the front part glass tomorrow, trimming a plant, and changing the water as well. If everything is smooth for a few days after I will attemp to add angels again... I think I will do some extra searching for a white w/ red eyes, these seem impossible to find, none of the stores here have even 1!

Thanks... Boy did I feel silly today. The 4 fishies I had left from the beginning are NOT tetras, I thought they were because the tag on the aquarium at PetCo said so. I just figured it was a type of tetra until realized today they are "Red Wag Swordtails".
I did a pwc today with some gravel vacuuming, wiped the front glass for algea, wiped down the plant leaves. Then I moved the gravel around a bit to get the dirt out some more, while my canister HOT Magnum filter did its job. I feel that using this thing for an hour or two when messing with gravel is much better then letting the Eclipse 3 lid take care of it, I don't know if its the suction that is much higher in the aquarium or its just a lot more powerful.
Anyway, nitrites and ammonia are still at 0, if its the same tomorrow I will try adding some friends to the tank, I'm so impatient.

If you're thinking of Angels, I would recommend three minimum. I've forgotten your tank size, it isn't mentioned; but assuming you have space Angels are shoaling fish (comparable to tetras and corys) and are therefore better in a group for natural behaviours. You also have plants so adding three will not be a cycling issue.

i would personaly add 5 if your tank is big enough because they go less crazy in bigger numbers and dont hurt themselves
