What kind of fresh food is safe for tropical fish? I have neons and bronze catfish in my 10 gallon but don't give them anything fresh. Do they need it? Regularly or as a treat? And what is safe?
I'm not sure for cories but for my loaches, otos, ABN and shrimps I will feed cucumber, zucchini and spinach. I feed these fresh veggies nearly every other day, sometimes every third day. Your cories may likely only one of these items, or they may like all three. Only the loaches like the zucchini, the otos go nuts for the spinach and the shrimps adore their thin little cucumber slice. The ABN will eat anything and everything.
Do you know if there is anything they shouldn't have? I have carrots, celery, and frozen broccoli and carrots for 'normal' veggies. I assume they couldn't have green beans or anything. i just don't know.
All I've ever fed is what I listed above. I would think carrots, celery and broccoli would be too rough on their digestive tracks but someone else will have to weigh in. I fed what I fed based on the info that has been given to me from fishkeepers that have (and always will ;-)) more experience than myself. One of them will chime in with more solid info than I have given.
