Exclamation Fish Tank Apocalypse :(

okay so this is probs in the wrong thread but its to late now :P but i woke up today to find my 55 gallon, planted community tank empty :O like everything but two swordtails were dropped dead on the floor :$ like idk how or what could of caused this!! this tank had been running for about two years! and no problems not one casualty since then, except from the last few days one cory died so i assumed perhaps old age or suffocated idk, but then the next day a roseline barb is floating on the surface, but i examined him and he seemed really well fed and no ick or infections! and then the next night there was 5 dead cardinals two rasbora and some swords and cories, so i did i intense clean! i did like a 50 % water change checked my filte and everything! and then i woke up today and poof theyre dead.. like im dumbfounded! i probs should of posted this yesterday to look for suggestion as what to do but i guess its to late..

can anyone diagnose my situation? could it be some type of internal disease for most of the fish? and what should i do now to prevent it happening again?

Do you know your water parameters?

Any chance that you can find out if the city or town you live in did maintenance recently and added something to the water supply? That sounds pretty strange - all dead with no outward symptoms.

Sorry you woke up to that :(

Alot of cities have been changing over to chloramines instead of chlorine to treat the water supply. This could be one issue.

This happened to me about 6 months ago. My problem was my co2 tank dump and kill 2/3 of my tank.
