I was feeding my fish yesterday and our of curiosity i dipped my finger in the tank (My hands were clean, and there was no soap residue) but is it alright to let my fish (Guppy's) nibble at my fingers?
If it's not okay, then I shouldn't have fish! Mine will nibble on my arms and fingers when I'm cleaning the tank or just trimming plants. It feels funny, especially when my goldfish get a whole finger in! It's perfectly fine as long as you have no soap residue or lotion on your hands. Or open cuts.
Emperor tetra's will grab hair's on my arm's and then pull, or roll, like alligator and it never ceases to startle me.(actually hurt's a little).
Once kept Large Oscar, that would leap from the water and grab shrimp pieces, earthworm's.Talked my sister in to trying this, and the Oscar grabbed her finger and she freaked and took off, with Oscar still attached to her finger.
Could not pay her after that ,,to go near the tank holding the Oscar.
My Dwarf Puffer has started to bit my arm/hand whenever I am doing maintenance inside the tank. For such a small fish its bit actually hurts a lil. Its like being poke by a needle or something. The first time it did it to me it freaked me out!! I couldnt believe it had done that. I mean I have had this thing for 2 years now it has decided it needs to bit me! Point is yes its safe ad long as there is nothing on your skin. Posted via Mobile Device
