what type of fish is this
Sadly, that is not photoshopped. That's what's known as a pearlscale goldfish. I've seen them sold in stores as "ping pong goldfish." The one in the picture there is a Crown Pearlscale (because of the oranda-like head growth). They're selectively bred to have that rounded body shape, and as a result many suffer from swim bladder problems. Also, the ones I've seen in stores seemed like they could barely swim.
Oh my god I can't believe thats real!!! Poor thing, I just googled it... They aren't very attractive fish, I like their face but it looks like they are painfully swollen and their scales look all stretched and deformed.
I wish I hadn't gone and just googled it. A short clip on youtube shows a Pearlscale so thick that instead of swimming it "waddles". Selective fish breeders have a very strange view on what is attractive, IMO. I liked it better when I thought that pic was photoshopped.
yeah id say its a pearlscale goldfish look how his scales are i was once into goldfish like these but then i learn it was a defect that they did on purpose so it made me extremely sad how low a petstore would go to make a buck back then i thought petstores never lied and were helpful that they actually cared.....that is until i started to develop a deeper interest into fish and realized what they were doing was sick and inhumane....and the worst part about i like black moors everytime i see one i just wanna take it home >< and care for it....but then it makes me think that a fish was tortured to become this
