When you decide on a name, you have a male fish, not that he will mind I'm sure. If you could get a female, it would be interesting; they are social in a pair.

I can't help with names as I never name my fish but I wanted to say what a VERY pretty fish he is. It makes me want one!

Thanks Byron, I was pretty sure I had a male, but with no female to compare it too, I wasn't sure. Unfortunately I dont have the room in my tank...I would consider it if all my bloodfins died or something tragic happened like that...I just don't want to over load my tank.

What is the tank size? I had a pair of these in a 15g and they were fine. The surface area is the most important aspect rather than water depth, since they spend all their time at the surface but they are very sedentary. In a pair they inteact a bit which I found quite interesting; I'm sure it's better for them too, as I said, they are social. And providing what the fish need is a better formula for health long-term.
