not sure if this is the right place for this question but here we go, i have 2 RES turtles who are aparantly very choosey about their feeders.. i can drop about 5-6 feeder golds in the tank and the turtles will go after the same 1 or two and leave the others. they do the same thing with guppies. i have 5 Goldfish in there now that are getting to a pretty good size and the turtles have never once taken a chomp at them, yet i can throw a new one in and it gets gobbled right up. can someone please explain this to me? do you think my LFS will refund feeders that won't be eaten? like a defective product lol.

First of all, You should only put one feeder in at a time. five Goldfish swimming around the tank just dirtys the water and creates ammonia.Try putting the Goldfish in a separate tank or bowl and keep them there as a storage until feeding time.If they are in for more than 24 hours than change the water every day or they will die from excess ammonia.If the turtles wont eat just one, than wait longer till they are good and hungry.Also feed your turtle fresh veggies.a varied diet is very good for their digestive system.
