Discus fish will grow in a year if you feed them very well and change the water very frequently. same with black ghost and parrot fish. ive had them for 5 months and they have grown 3 inches from youth. Eels grow fast to, they love frozen bloodworms. just dont put in small tetras because they will eat them and die. Oscar fish grow fast as well. mine grew in a month. they went from 2 inches in lenght to 8 inches. But then again it matters how much you feed them what you feed them and how often you change your water.

Fastest? Hmmm..Red bellied pacus certainly do. It took mine only about 5-6 months to reach 10-12 inches a few years back and they were 2.5 inches when I bought them. I had to euthanized after discovering how big they got and it was an impulse buy. Synodontis eupterus are another candidate. They reach 6-7 inches in barely 4-5 months. Not a bad record eh.
