Eyespot Rasbora Diet?

Does anyone know if the Eyespot Rasbora can be fed flake food? I know in the profiles it says "Carnivorous in nature, feeding on worms, insects and crustaceans. Accepts most prepared foods; frozen daphnia and bloodworms; live worms, artemia and insects." Do you think they would be ok with getting the frozen food 3 times a week and flakes for the other 4 days?

I keep them and my understanding is that they are omnivores. I feed them flakes and all the other usual various fish food that I feed to my other fish. In my experience they aren't picky and eat whatever I give them and they seem very healthy. They are great little fish!

In the profiles (which I wrote, most of them anyway) "prepared foods" is intended to include flakes, freeze dried, whatever. If the species is really fussy, it will point that out.

I too have a group of this fish in one of my tanks, and they readily eat flake foods and micro pellets. At least I assume they are eating it--this is all that tank is fed (a variety of 4 flake and pellet foods) and they wouldn't be alive [and spawning peridically] after 2 years in the tank if they didn't.

Frozen daphnia would be ideal if you can get it; I can't anymore. Frozen bloodworms as a treat is fine.
