I'm sorry, I know I've seen a bunch of topics about this, but I can't seem to find them, so I'm bringing it back up.
The other day I went to a river front to find some rocks for my 55 gallon and came across a real prize, a piece to driftwood to use as a lovely centerpiece. Right now I have it soaking in a rubber maid tub, but what else can I do to make it safe for my tank? I know this is mostly just letting the tannins soak out, so what about disinfecting it to some degree?
As you can see by the picture down below, it's pretty big, so boiling is out of the question. It's about 2 feet at its longest and 1 foot at the tallest. I've heard about putting driftwood on the oven? If I put it in there on a low heat for a while, would this do any good?
Advice is much appreciated, thanks.
