I have a 20 gal tank with 2 gold fish and a bristlenose pleco. Goldfish I have had about 1 year and the pleco about 8 months. a few months ago the pelco started to get aggressive towards one of the goldfish. I read he might just be hungry so I start feeing broccoli and other veggies and his aggression subsided. However in the last few weeks during feeding even though his veggie is right there he wont eat it and has decided to dart at the goldfish anytime they get near the bottom of the tank. I know I need a bigger sized tank but that is not currently possible with my apartment. Should I buy another small tank for just the pleco? should I try to re home him (id rather not and I don't even know anyone with a fish tank) is there any thing I should try to lower the aggression in the tank in the mean time? Separate them while eating? removing decorations (there's a large wood looking piece in there that he never leaves and its the main décor). I do a 2 to 4 gal water change every week and a filter change every month. I had goldfish and a pleco (not sure which kind) growing up and there was never an issue.
please advise.
