Boesemani eating plants?

I just picked up 3 Boeseman Rainbowfish and one of them immediatly started munching on the plants.. like literally within 5 seconds of being in the tank. Is this something to be expected or is it just that hungry?

They will occasionally munch on softer plants. Both my boesemani and angelfish eat my stargrass a little. Yours I would guess are hungry. Rainbow fish are always hungry, but they don't normally bother most plants.
