? is it big enough?

is a 15g big enough for a fantail goldfish? How much room does a koi need? I was going to save some from a bowl, and I was wondering tank sizes either for both together, or each seperatly... Help?

i want to say the minimum for a fancy goldfish is 30 gallons but even then it is small due to their large bio loads.

i strongly suggest not mixing koi and goldfish together first of all. my father "baby sat" a friends koi and put it in with our fancy goldfish. my fish ended up losing an eye, seriously.

on top of that ive seen some koi a few feet long. granted they were 20 or 30 years old they still grow fast within the first year or so but dont reach full size until many more years down the road. keep the koi to the ponds.

yep, my brother has 3 fancy gold fish in a 90 gallon tank. He tried to have them in a 30 gallon, but they're grew too big and the waste load was way too much for the smaller tank to handle. I'd seperate them and keep the koi in a pond

It's best to keep koi in ponds. They grow several feet in length, and some have even been recorded living to the age of one hundred.

I feel so bad for those 2 little guys in their half gallon bowl! They r bound to die soon. :( (they live in my science room, and my teacher wont get them a proper home, but he says I can have them if i want, but I don't really have the room now, I can try tho!
