Question Bettas; Can I make them anymore comfortable?

I got back from Georgia about an hour ago. While I was up there, my Aunt bought me two Crowntail Bettas. When transferring one of them into the small divided tank, he hopped out of my hand and into the sink. He has been recovering from the incident for about a week and flared for the first time since the incident yesterday. They just underwent a 7 hour car ride back to Florida and I know they are a bit stressed. I currently do not have a larger tank available for use, so unfortunately they are stuck in the little one. I have yet to get the dropped one [Christopher] to eat. Is this okay seeing as he's more than stressed right now? I'll get photos up soon. Christoper also has barb-like spines on his top fin and during the car ride I think the other one, Spencer nipped a bit of his own fin. There was a spike in the bottom of his portion as I examined them once home. Now, I noticed a bit of white on the base of Spencers top fin, on the tip of a spine on his bottom fin, and around his gils, but he doesn't show any signs of sickness and is looking much better then Christopher. He flares up so pretty and pushes his gills so far forward sometimes he looks like a lion! Is there anything I can do to reduce the stress on them for the next few days as I settle down from being gone?

Yours truely,
Zombie

Sorry everyone. I'm gone. I can't use the forum anymore. My health issues are too much. I'll miss you all and I will return some day, just not on this account.

Okay. I cleaned their tank and left out gravel and while Christoper was in his cup, he flared huge. He's now flaring and spencer isn't. They both seem to enjoy the barebottom much more. Do I have some wierdo fish or what?

if you want to releive stress with them put them in their own bowls having a divider where they can see each other as two males is way too stressful for them.

There is another divider piece that can be put in to block view. The piece is in.
