| | Bettas; Can I make them anymore comfortable?
I got back from Georgia about an hour ago. While I was up there, my Aunt bought me two Crowntail Bettas. When transferring one of them into the small divided tank, he hopped out of my hand and into the sink. He has been recovering from the incident for about a week and flared for the first time since the incident yesterday. They just underwent a 7 hour car ride back to Florida and I know they are a bit stressed. I currently do not have a larger tank available for use, so unfortunately they are stuck in the little one. I have yet to get the dropped one [Christopher] to eat. Is this okay seeing as he's more than stressed right now? I'll get photos up soon. Christoper also has barb-like spines on his top fin and during the car ride I think the other one, Spencer nipped a bit of his own fin. There was a spike in the bottom of his portion as I examined them once home. Now, I noticed a bit of white on the base of Spencers top fin, on the tip of a spine on his bottom fin, and around his gils, but he doesn't show any signs of sickness and is looking much better then Christopher. He flares up so pretty and pushes his gills so far forward sometimes he looks like a lion! Is there anything I can do to reduce the stress on them for the next few days as I settle down from being gone?
Yours truely,
Zombie
