New to forum. As an impulse buy, I bought what I mistakenly thought were Scarlet Badis, and have subsequently gone through a few more misidentifications. In the end, I'm fairly certain I've got a breeding pair of Badis Tuivaiei. I seem to have found some good information on them but it says that they are rare in the aquarium trade. I got them fairly cheap and wondering if I got a lucky find.

I don't know much about them but would love to see some pics if you could post some.

From the little information I've found, they are cave breeders and after spawning the male takes care of the nest. I don't see him very often, even at feeding time he doesn't come out that often. When he does it's a real treat. He looks awesome, IMHO. That is why I think they are breeding. The female is much paler. These shots are a couple months old before the he colored up and breeding started. I'll have camera in hand at tonight's feeding in case he decides to show his pretty self.
