For a betta tank, airstone will just be for show. Bettas breathe from the surface, not so much from their gills.
I would not recommend adding one, as bettas are already encumbered by their large fins. Putting in an airstone would create necessary current in the tank, and would upset the fish.
Airstone are what *stupid question as i said* make the bubbles from the bottom to top correct? is this to put more dissolved oxygen in the water?
my filter seems to bubble already, from about half the tank up... is this for the same reason? or is this just the filter?
Yeah, it puts oxygen in the water and helps to circulate it. I know that bettas don't need the oxygen in the water.I'm not putting a filter in my tank but wanted something to circulate the water. You wouldn't need one if you have a filter.Yeah, it makes bubbles from the bottom to top.
I guess you can always try to get one and then if the betta doesn't like it just take it out. a few people on here have said how their fish will "pout" when they turn it off. each fish is different with different likes and dislikes. It won't hurt him if you try it
are the pirate chests that bubble for the same reason?
Yeah, I read where you can put them in decorations. A neighbor of mine has a decoration that uses an airstone and it looks like a river running. Its pretty cool.
