Adding Gravel

I have a 36" x 14" x 24" tank and have been running this tank for over a month with 5 Oranda goldfish
(approx size 3 inches each). The thing is the tank is empty in terms of gravel or decorations.

So my question is how do i go about adding new gravel and decorations without putting too much stress on the fish?? Do i take all the fish out into a separate bucket with the tank water, and decorate the main tank, let the water filter for awhile then put the fish back in the main tank??

Thanks in advance!!

That sounds good to me. They won't be in the bucket for very long so it shouldn't be a problem.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

That sounds like a good plan, just make sure you rinse the gravel and decorations well before adding them
