55 gallon heater

i have another question, this time it is revolved around tank heaters.

i have a 55 gallon tank and right now since i have not yet bought a 200w heater, can i use a 100 watt heater and another heater combined? is it ok to have multiple heaters in a tank until i can get one that is the correct size? the main goal is that the water is the correct temperature right? i dont think it would matter how many heaters i have, right?

can anyone correct me on this?

Two 100 watt heaters will work fine.
Some peole prefer using two seperate heaters.
It can provide better coverage and protection, so if the heater goes out, you still have one in there to help hold the water temperature.

yep, 2 heaters isn't a problem, like twister said....it never hurts to have a back-up if one fails in the middle of the night

Yup, in many situations it is better to have two heaters, a backup and if positioned one on each side of the tank, even heat distribution is implied and there is less difference in temperature from spot to spot in the tank.
