30 seconds - 2 minute feeding rule?

Everywhere i read it says something to the extent of feed your betta once a day, only how much it will eat in 2 minutes (or 30 seconds, or somewhere between) I never! seen my bettas eat. I know they do, because their not dead. and i feed them like 2 (sometimes a little more, but usualy just when i accidently put a little to much) pellets and leave the room. But even when i stay and watch, they don't eat them... same with flakes... So is there a rule about this or...?

I feed mine 2-3 pellets twice a day. I usually watch mine eat. Most of them tend to scarf their food down in 1-2 seconds. lol If I went by the 2 minute rule, mine would eat the whole pack of food. lol I have one fish that doesn't eat his food right away but it DOES get eaten. If you find uneaten food, take it out so it won't foul the water.
