Chesh and rsskylight04 like this.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

oh dear i have a problem…..two Angels are bonding and the other two
are feeling the pain of living with a loved up couple.
i was hoping they would be ok,however …..no,and i know this will
only get worse.
i can put together an emergency tank, however this will only be short term
as it's a very small tank…well in comparison to what they are in right now.
i originally purchased from P@H and i don't know if they would take
them back as i've had them a while.

The worst you can do is ask.
The lfs near me sells angels in different sizes so larger fish are actually more valuable to them than smaller fish.
You might try for store credit.

Yes ogre my lfs offers to trade some types of fish for younger ones if they start to outgrow the tank. My wife wanted angefish and when i warned her that they would get too big for her 26 gal, the fishstore person offered to swap for small ones when they got too big. Not really my style, but might be really useful to a lotof people.

thanks i'm going to find out after the holidays if they'll take
them back….change of decor has stopped the fights at the moment, they are being too nosey.
the plants are fake,i bought them from a pound shop,i have bought plants(fake)
from a garden centre before.(little more expensive) they're material .
you can also use reptile safe plants,as they are the same, however expensive.
i don't bed them in as i clean them roughly twice a month, and i have another set
in the shed,i find the darker colours last longer,as the bright ones show algae
up quicker,in the summer i wash them and leave them in the sun
to dry.

here is the tank as it looks today, after the addition of fake flowers, fern,
rocks, vine. and water change…please forgive perhaps fuzzy pic as the iPhone
camera isn't very good.
