Have you tried activated carbon to clear the tannins?

I love your tank. I agree with you willow, stained water just bugs me. I love the look of wood and leaves in a tank, but the colored water is... just not good.
Awesome looking fish and habitat!

thanks guys you know how to pick a gal up
sad news today the female ram has disappeared,i've done a water change,
taken out the offending wood, and water is clearing as i type,
no ram to be seen, the male is alive and well
another water change on sunday, and a little swap around of stuff, might
add a big rock.
grrrrrrrr male bristle nose being a tyrant to the bronze corys…so that's
why they hide ! he chases them sooooo aggressively,i now try to feed
at separate ends of the tank…..i may set up a tank after the holidays
and move him to there…naughty monkey !!!
i'd like to add some tall vallis to the back wall,i think that would look nice,
cleared two tonne of duck weed off the top
hopefully will take piccies

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

Now my wife wants a tank just like yours with flowers and floaters.

THANKS!

Seriously though, those pics are absolutely beautiful.
