when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

*ok…..looks around suspiciously….it's gone….!!!!!* fishy death fairy*
levels are stable…angels have laid eggs….
another water change tomorrow….
still unable to account for all the clowns…so i suspect i lost three off the seven.
and i think that perhaps is where the problem came from…also over feeding !

I've found clown loaches in my filter intakes weeks after I counted them as vanished. Don't be surprised if they miraculously show up!
Good luck willow!

hey
trouble with my tank is that it's soooooo hard for me to rummage around,
the inlet is covered,so i doubt they got in their….but clowns will be clowns,
and nothing they do should be a surprise.
everyone is down one end of the tank now as the angels are protecting
the eggs.

what a terrible thing you have going on willow. I wish I had some sort of help to offer, but being new to this fish thing the best I can do is some support. I hope things get better for you and your fishies and good luck getting it sorted out.

i certainly appreciate the support i really do
things must be on the up angel fish eggs were in both tanks, however both lots
have been eaten
new heater being tested as i wright this..happy days…then a grubby angel tank
to clean …..there's a lot of white fungesy stuff on the bottom of the
tank…it's gross it's like a sheet of mist if that makes sense ….will need
to simplify the tank,as there is wood and rocks in there including the egg slate
which they are happy to use…..seems i have two breeding pairs…how lucky
am i
so calculations say…two clowns must have died,i know the megga skinny one
was obvious, however at feeding time there is now only five.
and 4 bronze corys left out of six. i started with 7.
barbs are acting funny now…hugging the heater ? but it's not cold in there ?????
sometimes i thank goodness for guppys otherwise it would look empty in there, and that's a lotta tank to look empty
and i'm kinda regretting the angels in the big tank as they make everyone hide
the serapes are a quivering mass,as are the neons, bully bristle well he's still doing his thing, new little female minding her own business,
who needs to watch Dallas….come sit at my house !

Mixed bag of good and bad going on in here, Willow. :(
White misty stuff sounds *possibly* like leftover food molding over? This happened to me when wild-caught fish were learning how to eat flake food for the first time - I had to work very hard to keep the substrate clean until they figured that out! Loaches are lovely, it's such a shame that they're notorious for bringing illness into a tank T__T
I hope you get everything sorted and back on track again soon - sounds like you're on the road to recovery! Congrats on the breeding angels - that's a lovely thing!
