I wanted to show y'all an update on my 75 gallon. Everything is going quite well. There are currently 5 angelfish(3 silvers, 1 marble/1 smokey), 3 blue gouramis, 1 bull dog pleco/2 amano shrimps. I am on the fence about getting 2 more gouramis. Right now, the gouamis only chase each other and don't bother the angels. They don't fin nip each other, just a bit of chasing. Occasionally, I find them weaving, circling and swirling together. It's really cute to watch xD

If I do not get 2 more gouramis, I may consider getting some cories. Again, on the fence about those. I also won't be getting the cories until I receive my new canister rated for 100 gallons.

Plant-wise, I have 3 stems of narrow leaf hygros(the angels/goruamis love these plants), corkscrew vals, cambomba(whatever has survived), wisteria, water sprite, duckweed, salivna, asian water grass, ludwiga and a ruffled sword.

I am super excited, this weekend I am adding a DIY CO2 generator. Right now, I don't plan getting too complex with my CO2. I am just adding it just so my plants have a little extra something. If I get moderately good growth with just this 1 generator. I will keep only 1. If not, I will add only 1 more generator. I won't add a 3rd unless I am able to trade my current bulbs for higher lighting bulbs.
The CO2 generator will be 2 2 liter bottles that have the yeast mixture and 1 500ml bubble counter bottle. My diffuser will be a powerhead. Once I get my new canister, I will use it as my diffuser.

The picture shows a working airstone...I have turned it off as of last night to prepare for my CO2 generator.

I am convinced that the duckweed multiples when I am sleeping. I now have double of what is in the photo below O.O

Thank you Jakie. I hate it when deaths like that happen. I'm not given a chance to attempt to heal them. It really bums me out :/
I think it was the one that liked the volcano I had. I named her Dory.

Thanks Aussie. Everyone else is still doing pretty well.
This Friday, it payday. It's also the time when rent is due :p If I have some extra cash and everyone else is doing fine. I'll nab me a school of longfin cories and see if the person I get them from has a blue gourami to throw in. The girls were getting along so well and their blue/purple hues balanced out all the colors very nicely.

Well, this past weekend I made a trip to my LFS for another blue gourami girl. The guy who runs it had only 2 left, he said he knew they do better in groups(he's also been following my tank), so he gave me the last girl for FREE!! So awesome :3 They're both chilling out in their QT bin. Still very spookable, but they're soon starting to realize my presence means joy and not fear.
Floated them in my show tank for a pic/acclimation(QT tank has same water)

Poor Dory! So sorry to hear. . .

But huzzah for new babies in QT! The new blues are pretty - and awesome that you were given one for free! I'm coming to YOUR shop next time I'm shopping for fishies. . . ^.^ Did you end up getting a shoal of long-fin Cories?

. . . been a few days now, how are your newbies doing? Hoping all is well!

They're doing great. Colored up real nicely. This past Saturday was week 1 in QT. ALOT of chasing in the QT tub, but I added in all my fake plant decor and they've toned it down a bit. They haven't shown any issues so far, makes me wanna put em in right now. But I know what rushing your tank gets ya ;)

I haven't gotten any LF cories yet. Money got much tighter than I expected it would during pay weekend. Smaller paycheck than usual....next paycheck rent is due, so not sure about getting anything then. Then again, the 2 new girls are expected to be introed into the tank during that time. So I'd rather atleast a coupla weeks for everyone to establish their places/settle in.

Oh I do!!!
I got up and was all "yes! Its payday!" Checked the bank..."wha!!?? Almost $60 less!?" I thought I did the math correct. Clearly I didn't. All my training clients have paid their 2 weeks. Maybe the LF cories had a bad influence on my math hehe

Forgot to post this last night, I took out the fake plants/reorganized the tank. My plan is to trim/plant the hygro around those logs to make them more appealing to my pleco, shrimps and future school of cories. A little bare right now, but next week the hygro will be ready for another trim/replanting.

This weekend is 2 weeks the gouramis have been in QT. SQEEEE So excited! I hope they balance out the chasing amongst each other nicely.

I hope to get some Java Fern/Anubius this weekend. Will check out my local fish store. But they always seem to have a supply of SAD java fern/anubius. If I can get any, I may just order them from a friend.

Oh, and I did a fishy photoshoot so y'all have some updated shots of the fishys. My koi angel is such a show off

And my pleco seems to LOVE the spot where the CO2 diffuser is. He is almost always in that spot. He comes out every now and then during lights on. But like most plecos, he is active most at night.

Thanks! I love em. I love all fish, but I think angels are right behind my heart fish(pudgy goldfish). My striped silver is not too friendly when I stick my hands in the tank. Who knew a little fish's bite could hurt?! I think he gets a hold of my arm hairs and gives em a yank. Everyone else doesn't mind me messing with stuff, he's always a meanie to me. I have to always be cautious of where/what he is doing and sho him away when he starts thinking about it. It's a wonder how I ever get aquascaping done!

BEAUTIFUL pics of GORGEOUS fish!!! *swoooooonsforthebabies*

My fish (and frogs!) are so used to me hand-feeding them, that I can't get anything done in the tank without fearing for their lives. They're so sweet, but DUMMIES!!! A siphon in hand does NOT mean food!!! ^.^

Glad to hear all is going well with the newbies in QT! How long are you going to keep them in before moving them to the show tank? *ish exctied*

LOL
So far they have no interest in the siphon. If they see something INSIDE the siphon, then they're poking at it, but nothing scary so far.

I need to get these guys some beef heart cubes. It almost seems like they've frozen in growth.

I think I'll be adding the new girls into the tank on Monday. I'm really excited and nervous about it. I hope the current girls aren't too hard on them when establishing their pecking order.

I trimmed and planted some of the hygro. Only a few of them were okay to be trimmed a bit. I could of waited until next week and trimmed them then. But I didn't :p The wisteria was getting a tad tall, so I trimmed it a bit. I also had to dump quite a bit of duckweed. I forgot to take out some of it last week, so I ended up having to remove double the amount.

The 2 new girls were added as well. Surprisingly, there isn't a whole lot of chasing among them. The aggression/chasing seems to have come to a near halt.

What an awesome tank!
Currently, I am interested of getting angels in my setup (later on, with a different mix). When (an if) the angels pair, would the tank hold them all??
Sorry, but another question. The tank I am thinking of putting them in is a 65G corner pentagon, would 2 pairs (including other fishes to go along with them) would be alright? Or just a few babies and if one pairs, then get rid of the others.?.

If I have the choice(and I did) I would choose to get a few juveniles. If they happen to pair, there is a bit more of a chance they'll all get along. But once they breed, be prepared to separate and possibly rehome. I have atleast 3 back up homes and a back up plan if one or all those homes fall through.

From what I've seen, no matter the tank size. A breeding pair won't share a tank with another angel.

For a 65 corner tank. I'd probly be comfortable with 4 angels at most, 3 would be most comfortable(keeping in mind how large they get as adults).
