unknown fish

Hello,

I was hoping someone could help me identify a fish I adopted 8.5 years ago. I have always thought it was some sort of tetra or barb but could never figure it out.

Thanks,

Hailfirex

Yep, it's a red-tail tinfoil; Barbonymus altus to be exact. I'd love to have some but they require a very *large* tank once they reach adulthood. How large is yours? He looks pretty big...

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

wow!! nice looking fish there :)

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

Wow....to me that's HUGE! You've had him for eight years. What size was he when you got him? Just curious on the rate of growth for a red-tail tinfoil....
