My water has cleared up significantly. I wouldn't call it crystal clear yet but I'm happy with it. I also moved the life support gear to the other side of the tank so the view though my pass through sees more fish than filter.

I added a black background to my tank. My wife always suggested it because she didn't like seeing the cords and "life support" equipment. I fought it because I wanted to be able to view my tank from my office. After three weeks though I realized that when I wanted to just look at it I did it from the dining room. So I used a piece of black cloth to make a back drop.

Since I added the back drop I reaquascaped to take advantage of it. I bunched all my hygrophilia into one large bunch as a center piece and then used my bush and tree stump to make a large refuge in one corner. I'm much happier with the set up but I still need another clump of tall plants on the left to finish things up.

Does anyone know of a place I could get a group of cabomba, either silk or plastic, that's at least 14" tall? Petsmart only sells up to 8"

You might try www.bigalsonline.com look under decorations. Www.liveaquaria is another site that you might find what your looking for. I personally like the giant bamboo grass. It's nearly three feet and can be stuck in substrate along the back or sides and the rest floats on the surface. Hope some of this helps. :)

My wife loves to give me grief about my fish being tiny and getting lost in the tank.

I need to improve my photo-fu. Doesn't help that these fish can't sit still for half a second.

Quite a few new fish added yesterday. 2 more neons for a total of ten. 4 more panda corys for a total of seven, and a guppy.

The pandas are all still quite small, half an inch to 3/4" tops. They still sold for pull price though. So far the little guys are taking great to the aqaurium and spending lots of time out on the substrate, unlike the three older fish who spend all their time camped under a log.

The guppy is a gorgeous fellow that my wife loves. Unfortunately Panzer has more attitude that I was looking for. He's taken to running my platys around the tank even though they're twice his size easily. I'm certain all the Stooges are male and so is Panzer. I'm hoping he makes his point soon and leaves them alone.

I recently re-aquascaped my tank. Recently as in last night. I've added a few more plants to the bunch as well.
