With my tank finally set up its looking far more photogenic so I'm going to start to chronicle it's progress here rather than in the Starting a Freshwater section.

Here's my 55 Gallon Freshwater tank after initial set up.

Thanks. My water is clearing and here are some close ups of the decorations in the tank.

One of my store bought caves next door to my slate cave.

I love this silk plant, it looked good in the store and even better in the tank. I need to get a couple more.

These... I honestly can't remember the name of them, make up the bulk of the plastic plants in my aquarium.

Here's a close up of my slate cave. Nice and big inside.

And here's the steerhorns I made in their natural enviornment.

:D Looks cool! Are we happier now that cloudiness is subsiding?

Much happier now. My filter is running just fine, my water tests out good, and I've managed to tweak my heaters to keep things between 78.0 and 78.9. This afternoon I'm going to take some temperature measurements around the tank and reposition the one heater that I've got running and I'll see how things go. Unless something happens and my temp goes out of whack I'll be ready to put in my first few fish this weekend and get things going.

I think I went a little overboard on the silicone in some cases, especially this side of the steerhorns, but I was concerned about filling up the gaps and getting a good attachment.

I was worried I wouldn't have enough stuff on the bottom and almost made a few more decorations, once I put it in though I realize I almost had too much.

Looking good Aaron. As for the excess silicone, call it a lesson learned. Just remember it for the next project. They still look good. Nicely done
