Question Type of Cichlid??

hi I've had this pair of Cichlids for awhile now they have grown twice there size since i got em from a ferns tank, his wife didnt like em she likes all the brighter colors, but up to this day i have no idea what kind of cichlid they r. i knw its a male n a female .

o yeah i knw my tank looks a mess but i went away for the christmas had my cousin "try" to take car of it for me (he has never owned a fish tank) lol, but at least erryones still alive 2 oscars 2 cichlids 1 pleco and some feeder fish they refuse to eat for about 2 months now lucky guys.

How big is your aquarium, and the cichilid is a peacock of some sort I want to say.

38 gallon :
Pelvicachromis Taeniatus Nigerian Red not yet breeding pair
4 Pangio Kuhli
12 Hemmigrammus Bleheri
2 Botia Lohachata
1 Botia Straita
1 Ancistrus Sp.
6 Poecilia Reticulata

It looks like a Aulonocara nyassae, which is a peacock cichlid. They come from Lake Malawi and should really be in harder water.

thanks . its a 35gallon tank i knw its small for them now so a 80 gallon tank was bought today
i lost one oscar yesterday so now I'm down to the 2 Cichlids 1 Tiger Oscar and 1 Pleco,suggestions for new fish to add to the new aquarium??

80 gallon is okay for the oscar and the peacock, although they both require different water parameters, so they can't be with each other
