Traded a boat for a fish tank

So i had a boat that I was about ready to haul to the dump. It was an eye sore and in my opinion worthless. The engine was old, but ran, and the trailer was good.
Just for fun, I put an ad on Craigslist "Trade bout for fish tank." I couldn't beleive all the offers I got. Well, I did the only thing i could do. I went with the one that was the biggest and came with the most stuff.
It was a saltwater tank, so it's nasty, but it'll clean up nice.

I turned this...

Into this...
a 220 gallon Monster Tank.

he was as happy as I am. I think this is just a wonderful example of "another man's trash is another man's treasure". That tank was sitting in his garage taking up space. I think he was as happy to see that tank go as I was to see the boat go.

Vinegar and water + elbow grease. It'll get clean eventually. I just had to do this to a 55 gallon set up in similar condition.

Not wild about the faux marble though.

Yeah, it's definitely not what I would have chosen had i built it. I have been having mixed feelings about it. It is kinda growing on me, which is a good thing because I have no intention on changing it.

just to add to his post if you use non iodine salt with the vinegar and water it will reduce the amount of scrubbing you will have to do, the salt acts as a abrasive and wont scratch the glass.

works on plastic also not sure about acrylic thou.
