well, what i found from the info given, was that they used 3014 led bulbs.these are high output 1 watt led bulbs.this is similar to the finnex fugeray.this should give you enough light for low-medium light plants, since your are running them on a 10 gallon.there was not very much info on the net about these, which is why it took so long for me to get back to you.these should give you enough to grow anubias, mosses, java fern, pennywort, swords and crypts.if you want anything like baby tears of hair grass, you will need something brighter, like the double bright beamsworks, evo, finnex rayII or the finnex fugeray planted+.i would use both the 6500k and actinic at the same time.i was reading recently that the actinic blues do give an extra boost in growing plants.hope this helps.

When you turn it on both lights are on and pretty much im not looking for those high demanding plants
I want to keep ot simple so I guess well be fine with this if I don't get a call from work on sunday I'll be looking for that sponge filter and maybe start running the set up I will start trying to grow the moss walls I( need some more moss) and that would give me time to see how would this light work

Hi everyone well I have said this before I like do it yourself projects so I have an idea on how to build a sponge filter and how to build an aquarium heater so I'm going to implement that for now im working on what would be my substrate I got a bag of miracle grow organic and I'm getting out all the wooden pieces cause it tends to tan the water if anyone wondered before on how to do it the mos simple way is with a bucket and this think that I don't know its name some pics for you to have an idea...

So this way I hope we won't have to worry about coloration on the water as it happens with one of my 2.5. It will take about Hal of the bag to cover 2" on the 10 gallons but I have plenty of time I'll keep you guys updated :)

Si time to get the handyman out :) I built my filter last night it costed me 8 dollars simple pvc pipe some sponge that I had already and a little air pump let me explain how it works

so I drilled holes on the pvc pipe and one on a 90 elbow right on top

20140315_211033.jpg

I put a cap on the bottom and silicone that cap to a piece of tile
20140315_210557.jpg

I put sponge on the pipe and run an airstone in the elbow hole

20140315_220601.jpg
so the way this will work as the airstone start throwing bubbles water is going to be sucked through the holes on the pipe and eventually come up with the air simple and cheap :)

If anyone have a question ask me :)

Btw heater project has been cancelled it would cost me more to build it than getting one prefabricated for this size aquarium maybe for something bigger may work
