No, the main plant is Water Sprite. But there is also Dwarf Water Lettuce and Duckweed. I'd love to get ride of the Duckweed, but that's impossible without removing all the floating plants.

Yeah same here, getting rid of all the duckweed I have left, after hearing not so good things about it. But if your able to spare a few chains, please let me know. I would gladly pay for all things involved! Cant find them close to me, and I am not willing to pay the shipping of some of these places online.

If I do, it won't be for awhile. I also don't have a good source of plants locally. The nearest store is over an hour away that sells plants, and we're getting into the 'off season' with winter. I'll try to keep it in mind though.

I like the pygmy chain swords, but after an initial spurt they've pretty much stopped are pretty dormant. The ones on the left are doing well, but they get some natural sunlight by a nearby window (even with the blinds closed). I need to tap on some black paper to block that side of the tank, I'm getting some brush algae.

I honestly don't know how old it is. It would have to be at least 3 to 4 weeks. He's about 1/2" in size, maybe getting close to 5/8". We'll go 3 days between seeing him, he's tiny in such a large tank and hangs out in all the floating plants.

I'm pretty sure he's the only one, although I'm actually hoping "he" is really a "she" so that the school balances out ... if he makes it to adulthood. As you can see in the picture, he's still half see through. The Angelfish will have no qualms over gulping him up like they did all his siblings eggs. They like Diamond Tetra eggs more than they like frozen foods.

As juveniles they keep that torpedo shape, kind of like what a neon tetra would look like if they were all silver. As they get older, they get the larger body.

I hope he does make it! Stay hidden, little one - and grow FAST!!! I wonder how many of them there were, and. . . I suppose it's always possible that there may be more than one? He is really glass-like right now, very cute!

The Angelfish eggs have hatched! The second pair are far, far better parents than the first accomplishing this much on their first try.

However, they are on the filter intake tube.... I'm thinking quite a few are going to go for a ride into the filter. My wife has already seen one get sucked up, the daddy looked panicked.

I don't have a couple of large sponge filters to keep water circulating so I'm forced to keep the canister going. I'm not worried about the bacteria in the filter, more keeping an even temp throughout the tank during the winter.

AWWWW!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is so exciting! I hope they continue to be good parents, and that they don't consider eating their babies to be 'good.' Never had angels, but from what I've read. . . don't they like to move their babies shortly after they hatch? Hopefully they will. Don't know why it is, but they do seem to be fond of laying their eggs on those filters. . . *shakes head*

Still! SUPER exciting!!! I hope they do great and grow, grow, grow!!! Will you keep some of them if they make it!?
