Re-aranged

I got some ornaments from a friend today and added them to my tanks.(Palm trees, drift wood, and clay jug),Now I think the 80 gallon is finally done.I'm sure South America has some palm trees (right) .The Oscars have been doing a little follow the leader around their new obstacle course.

These pictures were all taken within minutes of each other. They are playing tag with their new floating toy (bobber and string tied to a piece of gravel) upper right of the tank

The Albino likes stalking the bobber on his side from the bottom, then attacks it and drags it to the other side of the tank and spits it at the glass.

I wanted to get a shot of him carrying the toy, but he spit it out when he saw the sandwich in my hand.

The Convict doesn't know what to do with such a spacious new hide out.
Here he is trying out his new bachelor pad.

I wanted to change the plants around, but when I put my hand near his jug, He bit me twice. So I am assuming He likes it the way it is.

Great pics! Must be hilarious to watch the Oscars play with their bobber toy. What a great idea.

thanks for the comments crazy4fish &jeaninel

They are constantly playing with that bobber. Right now they are sparing over who gets to carry it to the bottom. After one of them drags it to the bottom and lets go, usually the other is right there to chase it to the surface, bite it and dart off only to circle the tank and discover it again. The goes on about three-four hours of the day, more often after they have eaten and probably feel good.

What a great way to ensure your fish have lots of exercise! I saw a video a while back of people who "train" their goldfish to go through obstacles and knock a little ball around their tank. It was neat, but I like your fishy play toy better! 8)

Have fun with your fishy friends. :D

i saw a video like that too. i cant figure out how they could actually "train" a goldfish. i think its just something the fish liked to do.

Yeah it is a neat video.I bet it takes PATIENCE and hard work.My albino will let me pet it at feeding time, immediately after I pet him I drop his food in, and he has learned that.but after he has eaten, he could care less to perform.I have tryed without food before and gotten bit bad enough to bleed and need a band aid.
