Inspiration yes, personal project no.

I expect nothing. I fear no one. I am free.
Excuse my bad and rusty english but i did not have your luck to be born or to live in a country where the main language is english.
P.S I am not rude, i just hate stupidity and act accordingly.

well copying your inspiration might end up causing someone to create something that looks like yours since both would be inspired by the same thing.

I have been following along and decided to jump in on this, going with a five gallon, and word on getting those ferts to Canada? or where I could buy them. I use Flourish Excel on all my other planted tanks. I am going to use a play sand substrate is that okay?

You can join as long as you follow the rules.
They are posted here: http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/f...k-54059/page9/ and the accepted styles here: http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/f...k-54059/page8/, and no flourish excel. That aint low tech.
List is opened till today, whoever else wants to join the contest post here today or forever hold your peace.

I thought this would be a fun challenge, but it's turning out to be a bit too tedius... I also had a revelation.

The challenge to build a planted tank with the same feel as japanese professionals....
Can I grow plants as healthy as the pros, and use low-tech?
absolutely, with a couple substitutions.
Can I photograph as well as the professionals?
doubtful.
Can I aquascape as well as them with my very first project?
very unlikely.

I'm still going to try, but meh.

ahah i was thinking this before this even started, what we may lack isnt the technical skills but the aesthetic experience to recreate the same feeling those styles had which is why I suggested that we should be allowed to make our own styles as long as it isnt just a toss wood and rocks/plant randomly and theres a rational for placement.
