Well im a first time poster long time reader of this forum. I figured id make my introduction with pictures of my 55 gallon tank.

I started off the year with a 20 gallon and quickly upgraded to the 55 gallon by the beginning of June. By the end of June the tank was cycled and the fun hasn't stopped. I also took the 20g tank and set it up for my sister in law with 3 small african cichlids.

In the 55g tank their are,

2 Bala sharks
2 Rosy Barbs
2 scissor tail Rasboras
1 Pictus cat
and 1 red tail shark.

I just picked up the RTS earlier this week. The poor thing was housed with some nasty cichlids so i'm hoping now that he's in a happier home he will color up very soon. He has been very very peaceful and happy since I picked him up. Anyways on to the pics

I will update these pix very soon when I get some more uploaded onto the computer

Bala sharks do get big. They reach a size of 14-16 inches. If you wanna keep these guys around, you might want to get a bigger tank.
Im planning on upgrading at some point. The bala's are just insentive to do it sooner than later;-)

Welcome to the forum. Nice tank. Any shots of your pictus? I love those cats!
when i get some time ill try to snap some pix of him. It is a neat trick trying to get a nice focused shot of him lol.

thanks for the comments

Do all fully mature red tail sharks get that splotchy color? Looks like a shubunkin goldfish...

a couple more random shots

just noticed the redness on the base of her fin this morning....not sure what to make of it as shes acting like normal and my parameters are well within their limits. I'm hoping it is just some sort of injury that she may have gotten while scrambling for food but Ill have to keep an eye on her as well as the others to make sure their isn't some sort of parasite floating around in their

One of 2 pictus cats hangen out waiting for food

and two shots from my other tank with its newest edition:-D

the damn camera focused on the bubbles:-(
