Pics of 55. Need suggestions for layout.

I've messed with it for a few days and this is what I have. I wanted some color so I put a few saltwater things in that I've had for years to see if I liked the turquoise or red. I like the red, it seemed more natural. (They will come out I just wanted to get an idea) Something seems off with the back plants, it doesn't look right to me. What would you do different or add? I'd like to put a big piece of driftwood in there but haven't found the right one yet. Or rather, I haven't found one that mixes with my budget LOL! Open for any suggestions/advice/criticism.

I actually love the way it is right there in the pics! It looks like a little forest in the mountains or something, it looks really nice.

Thank You! It was suggested in another forum to add some medium height plants so it isn't BAM from small to large. I think I will move the small ones forward a bit and then put more in the middle as suggested. Driftwood and a cave of some kind will hopefully round it off so I can take the saltwater rock thingy out. And in the future, live plants if all goes well!

Very nice looking setup! Question about those rocks though. Are they real or fake??

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

The thingy in the center? It's fake, we got it years ago for our saltwater. For now it's just providing them some hiding space. Better (and more natural) is to come...

i happen to really like it alot.
if you want to keep your fake plants because you like them,
then do indeed keep them.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

I like it.

Kindest Regards,
Amanda

Keeping fish its not a hobby it is a passion!

55 gallon, 44 gallon, one 20 gallon tank, three 10 gallon tanks, and a 2.5 gallon all with real plants.

I have MTS and there is no cure.
