Hehe.. Good good good.. You're sounds more healthy and normal then many I keep hearing about. Heck.. Mine has bitten my ornate bichir when he invaded the DGs space lol.. Shockingly my bichir swam off with no consequence . I do like DGs when heathy and kept properly .

I'm head over heels for my boy. He's terrified of the shrimp! I fed him yesterday and the shrimp came out to get pieces he dropped and he saw one eating a piece of flake, got close, the shrimp started feeling his face up and he freaked and swam off, just glaring from a distance, haha. I'm sure that won't last long and he'll soon be eating shrimp for dinner but it was cute. (:

One of mine used to battle with the CPOs over food. Neither would back down and i cant tell you how many times he had to swim off with the tiny cray hanging from his lip haha.. "

Is a CPO an option for this tank? Or will they destroy my plants?

Possibly. I dont think theyd do much noticable damage to your plants.. Mine never did. My only concern would be if you are still planning on the Kuhlis . I havent kept those two together myself but my educated guess is that the cpo could stress or hurt the kuhlis. Not sure.

I nixed the kuhli idea due to footprint. I am willing to nix the snail and shrimp as well if need be. Will the CPO harm a shoaling fish or my gourami?

CPOs are more likely to kill each other than any fish.

I would only get one. From what I'm reading they like snails and slower moving fish if they are going to eat anything.
