Yes, he flares his fins at them and it's pretty.

No, I forgot them. Their shiny bodies are hard to photograph, this is the best I have.

LOL! I love them... they're so WEIRD looking, but in a pretty way! Have you ever seen them in documentaries and such, when they jump en masse to escape predators? Insane. . . really awesome fish!

Except you mean South America?

I changed my avatar to Tilly but the photo seems to have gone down in quality from the original... Hmmm.

The first few seconds of this documentary should have some shots of them jumping.

I do love that picture, too. But making it an icon decreased a lot of the quality. It's sad because it's soo cute.

I know, right? It really made me laugh, because they're playing the shimmery fairy-sounding chimey sounds, and all these fish are like PLOP! PLOP! PLOP! Not exactly graceful, but REALLY NEAT, regardless! I'm sure it's quite astounding to see in person - especially since the shoals are so HUGE. Can you imagine hundreds of these shining silver fish just jumping out of nowhere? Amazing. . .

I'm a doc junkie, too! I miss them sooo much since my TV is down that I've been watching them on my computer.

They do look rather ungraceful, but it's quite cute to watch. Silly little gliding fish.
