Hey everyone! I picked up a nice piece of bogwood up camping in a near by creek. I managed to clean it up and get it safe for the tank in no time at all. The piece is pretty big and I barely got it where I wanted it in the tank. It floated so I have a rock sitting on top of it now to keep it steady. I've re-arranged all of my plants. Tank is still clearing up but here are the pics!
Tell me what you think of the piece of wood and the re-arranged plants all comments and suggestions welcome THANKS!
Wow Nick! That's a great centerpiece! I can't believe you found it in a stream! Plants look great, they all grow so well in your tank. All you need is 2 or 3 taller plants for the background, and your tank will be so awesome!
Not at the moment my camera just died. But...I could try to point them out. There not that many but there in the far back right in the tank. The right back corner is where they are exactly.
UPDATE 10-2-06
Today I got 6 Cardinal Tetra's ( Jumbo ). They have just been put in and have been schooling with the neons so at the moment its hard to tell them apart! Just brings more ' bling ' out of the tank! Well thats what I think anway. I have also picked up a nice bushy looking plant to fulfill the left corner of the tank a little bit more. Thats all for now...
My amazon sword type plant on the left of the tank, the big one, well I have split it in half and put one half on the left side and one half on the right to fill the space up a bit. Just waiting for the roots to establish again. I've lost 2 Cardinal Tetras. It's weird, but from every batch of fish i get at least 1 or 2 die. I think there just unhealthy fish because I have good water quality and my other fish are sensitive to the water and they havnt died. Also attached a couple pieces of java fern to the bogwood. On one java fern there are little spurts of new java fern's growing off of the leaves so I'm waiting for those to grow about an inch so I can replant them . My DIY CO2: I think it has been working. I have put the tube in the intake where the filter sucks the water up, and when it bubbles, they go threw the filter and out into the tank. The only problem though is that it makes a pretty decent loud noise when it sucks through...So I think thats why most of my fish hang out on the opposite side of the filter...Hmmm I dont know about this CO2 maybe i should just let the tank be....I also need help with aquascaping my plants. Thanks
Yesterday I was at the LFS and I was going to get a little baby bristlienose...they were only about an inch they were sooo cute but they all there fish just arrived today so they cant sell them ti'll the next day. I got a kick out of it...
Ooo I really want a pleco! I would love a gold nugget but as I am not exactly keen on spending $40 in one place when I have no income... I love plecos. They are adorable.
