Need Help About a plant

Can anyone tell me if I should cut back this plant as the lower leaves have dropped but I see some new growth at the base.

I ordered the plants online as a package and they sent me a diagram about where they should be. I had tio adjust the plants because of the rocks and the placement of my artificail wood. Also some plants did not take and died back and over time I adjusted the scenary. I can show you the original pictures I took after the original plantings let you see how they have grown. I added several background plants because those are the one I had the most trouble with. I actually go to my local pet stoer (Petco) as they get some very nice plants. I am also progating my old plants by cutting themand re-bundling them and let them sit in the tank until the roots grow. I started in April of 2011. This is my first palnted tank. Thanks for the compliments.

Thanks for the compliments. I started in April of this year and I have seen the tank really take hold the last month or two as I constantly tinker with the backgroung plants. I have also adjusted the rocks and artifical wood over time. This is my first attempt at a planted tank. I will post the beginner photos.
