Naruto Themed 45gal

FINALLY! My tank is finished! It seems like this project took me a year to complete when really it was only 5 - 6 months.... still a long time.

Anyways, I came across a free 45gal tank with no hood and decided to snatch it up. Filled it with water and some gold fish to get the water cycled, all was well and there was no leaks. I then decided I wanted to decorate the tank based off my favorite anime, Naruto (I know I am a nerd).

After filling it, I had to get the background I wanted custom printed. Next I searched endlessly for the figurines to put in there. Got them from a combination of bidding from Ebay and finding things on Amazon.com. Then I had to find a hood. Then I hired a professional sculptor to make me a custom center piece, the nine tailed beast aka the Kyuubi.

After I felt the water was safe, I put in some lamp eye tetras, rainbow fish, danios, gouramis, some killie fish, another kind of fish I already forgot the name of... and two bottom feeding guys in there. One is a spotted loach type that won't get bigger than 6" and the other is a spotted catfish looking kind. I really am awful with my fish species lol. The good news is they are getting along fine and have been in there for about 2 months now. Just yesterday my custom sculpture finally arrived, making my tank officially complete!

I hope you enjoy these pictures even if you don't watch the anime :D

This is more nerdy than I ever see myself becoming, but I gotta admit, it's pretty awesome. I don't watch Naruto; boyfriend is a big fan tho, and he'll get a kick out of this. If I ever did something like this it would probably be Gundam themed, lol. Nice job!

Not to be a Debbie Downer here but those plastic figures might not be safe for the tank (unless you coated them already).

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Thanks for the concern about the plastic figures. They are made of PVC which I researched and found they are tank safe. The sculpture I had made is out of tank safe material as well, my artist was aware it was going into a tank.

Good to know. That tank is crazy (in a good way). Enjoy :)

I adore the Kyuubi! I love anime, haven't watched Naruto though... I'd have to do a tank of anime mascots if I ever did one like that, they always have the cutest little animal add-ons. ^_^'

As it is, I'll stick with my natural scenery of plastic goodies. XD

Impressive. I'm a big Naruto fan. I would never do a tank like this as I prefer the more natural looking tank, but to each his own. Very nicely done.

A very colorful tank indeed. I like it, a lot. I myself also am into the natural look but I must admit, the bright colors are fun to look at. Nice job!
