Tank is testing out nicely. 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 20 nitrates.
Sounds like you are just about ready for fish!

Never thought about the soil compacting but guess it will over time with it breaking down. Though I would think it would take awhile.

I do have baby crypts at different spots. I have no clue what kinds they are. They aren't runners. They are just randomly place.

Oh yeah and I have no clue how to do a siggy.

I've heard from people that it does compact over time. No clue how long that takes though. I guess I will find out. I am also completely ready for fish. I want to bring my Boraras home tonight or maybe tomorrow. Jes will send the loachlings too. I also would like to get some more B. naevus and some hengels. I can either wait a few weeks or just get them and use my grandma's tank as a short QT tank. Short because the seller QTs them already. That would give my grandma something to watch until I can help her figure out what fish she does want. Wish me luck on that one!

She has my fish. She likes watching them. How she can see them across the room I don't know. I hear all about them when I talk to her. When I ask her what she wants and even show her pictures I get asked the price...which is always too high according to her. I'm thinking I should let my mom pick. So to answer the questions in order No and Yes.

So if you could figure out what fish she liked just get some and put them in there and tell her they are in quarantine and just leave them for her. Well that's what I would do.
