They will go crazy in there!! So glad you've found the problem with the melt. Guess they weren't kidding about crypts needing established tanks. Yikes! Will certainly keep that in mind.

But the tank is looking awesome!!!! So lush! It must be awesome to sit next to that and be on the computer!

I have some new crypts. I hadn't exactly planned to put them all in this tank, but I've been having some issues with my other tanks, a fact that is unnerving/scary/disheartening. So the crypts went into the only tank with a ph above 6. I have to play with the placement and move things around before I take some pics. I now have C. wendtii 'red' that is pretty beautiful and some mystery crypt. The seller said it was parva, I thought maybe lucens. I have it now and have no idea. I don't have much hope for it since the roots were almost non existent. Hopefully I'll have pics tomorrow, just depends how busy my other tanks have me. I'm hoping to get them figured out, but we'll see.

Well I shifted something around and added the new crypts. I hate it though and will be putting it back the way it was. I would show pics but they are not comparable. Tank looked good before anyway. Looked amazing actually to me. So the crypts are going in the tank they were bought for.

Also I found a small nurii that had been floating in my stem tank for a couple weeks. It isn't melting. In short wendtii in all it's forms doesn't like me that much. Nurii loves me. Must be the water.

*giggle* ALL crypts like you - they were just double-checking your dedication to them! Now that they've decided you're okay, things should go more smoothly ;)

I'm sorry the pics aren't comparable. Doesn't matter if you're putting things back. . . at last viewing, the tank was gorgeous!

P.S. What is it with crypts and the overuse of the double letter 'i' Who decides that?

The International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (ICN). HA! Bet you didn't think I knew that! I suppose though you could blame the Italian Latins for creating the language or Carl Linnaeus for originally using it to describe species.

Thanks! Noooooo. . .I pretty much default to "Cory is a walking encyclopedia on all things living," and run with that. I figured you'd have SOME kind of answer for me Names of things. . .*shakes head*

The crypt tank was a little high on nitrates (40 ppm) but otherwise fine. I did a water change so we'll see if that bring it down enough. All my re-arranging and then re-arranging back is probably the cause. I'm thinking I might have disturbed the cap. No idea how though. Sarcasm doesn't work well when written. Most of that was sarcasm. Is there a forum wide sarcasm font? We (royal we since I'm talking about just me) need it.

A little bit of melt most likely because of the nitrates, other that or because wendtii hates me. It could go either way. No plants lost as long as we don't count the possible parva. So as soon as I can test nitrates again I will. I'm eager to bring my fish home.

Yay!!! I can't wait to see fishies in the tank! It's almost like those crypts are melting to show you their love. ;)

And I do agree with you... we need a sarcasm font. Or a sarcasm smiley.
