3 males, 6 females guppies, not sure about the Cherry Barbs, it seems that 2 of them are a nice red color and the other 2 are kind of pale red.

Sounds like you have a beautiful tank going. Try feeding brine shrimp, maybe your cherries will brighten, or maybe that is female/ male difference. Thanks for posting your project.

thnx rsskylight04, yes I did make them, it seems that when its cold outside I tend to have alot of time on my hands hahaha. I used a terracotta pot and aquarium glue and aquarium stone. The tubes were grey exterior electrical pvc. Same glue same stone. It seems that old habits are hard to break. I find myself staring at the tank and constantly wondering what to do next lol.

I actually have another ideal for a corner shelf but I'm not sure what to use for the top. Some thin plastic that can be molded to my liking or something of the sort hahaha. I did make a cave like structure out of a CD spindle top and larger stone but I am not sure I like it lol.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

Thnx willow, they were actually easy to make just time consuming. I basically put each stone into place hahaha I can add the pic of the cave if anyone really wants to see it.

Thats what I am doing lol. I hate the cold. In the summer I am always outside. So the tank gets much more attention in the winter hahaha. I have some Java Moss and some Subwassertang on the way. I want use the tubes for pillars of a shelf covered with the same stone and put either the Java moss or the tang on it for a blanket effect.
