What kind of water will your stockist have??? Around sbout the same i would think, there breed in these higher ph levels mine used to breed in 7.3 but for some reason it is comeing out the tap now at 6.8 the tank 6.6. Wild caugh would be differant story.
I kept a range of comunity fish at that level, angels, apistogrammas, german blue rams, golden rams, red breasted acra, a few gouramias, theres a huge range of tank reared fish good for you.

I like the endlers over the guppy there marking are so stunning. Got two liveing with a stunted angel happy as larry

Barry
I have actually thought of making my own filter as well. I just didnt know how big of a pump I would need. As far as the PH my LFS is the same as mine, 8.2 or very close.

For the fish you have I would reccomend a school of zebra danios or cherry barbs. Both are pretty, active fish that do best in small schools. Best of luck my friend.
Hey rsskylight04, I think the problem with the Endler guppy and normal guppy is cross breading (not sure really). Maybe some long fin Zebra Danios, but I do like the Cherry Barbs.

Yes the cross breeding is the "problem". If the hybrids are going to stay confined to your house then it's not a problem IMO.

I have to wonder if some of these guppy strains don't have some endler mixed in....

I would have to agree with you. I do have a question for you guys and I probably wont like the answer but here it goes.... I decided to look under my tank tonight to see if I had any roots or what not, and I saw some gray looking sand not the normal color. What might this be ?

I don't understand - you were looking for roots under your tank? Where did you find the sand?
