Thanks much. This is my 5 year old's tank. She wanted an Amano (that one!) if I could arrange it, and while this isn't that, it's doing fairly well.

I am not going to pay more for shipping than for fish. No way, no how. And while that limits the credibility of my whinging, I do not believe that I waive my right thereto thereby.

Frankly, I am not too worried about it. At some point I am going to try and breed the little buggers, though, and then I'll take another look at the whole thing.

Ask the owner of your lfs if they can order a female for you, I know the owner, Caroll, of one of my lfs's will order fish for you if you dont see it in the store

Gorgeous tank! It's nice to see someone else keeping threadfins. I think I may have gotten lucky and ended up with 1 female in the 12 I bought, but it may just be a still undeveloped male.

If they do breed though, I'll surely send females some your way. You're cool with paying shipping if that *is* the cost of the fish, right? lol

I notice females tend to be in demand yet very little supply. I only obtained two when I bought a group of these before.
