Yeah 5 Bala sharks. Very spoiled Bala sharks lol I made sure I got female guppies so I could breed them for the sharks to eat the babies but they would rather wait for the food to fall from the heavens instead of chase some babies around lol
Sounds about right. My limited experience with balas, is that they have to be some of the dumbest fish I have ever seen. Mine would get stuck in things. they would follow the tiger barbs or yoyo loaches around and try and follow them through tunnels or caves and I would have to pull them out sometimes.
Tha'ts funny. mine are not quite that dumb. lol they will get into one of the jars and swim backwards to get out. Actually this morning another guppy gave birth and I saw one of the little balas up in that corner and it looked like he was catching some food. They definitely have personalities. Hans is a giant (in comparison) and he is the leader, Frans is just a little smaller and he is like the number 2 guy, Ace and Gary seem to be the little trouble makers (always pulling my plants up) and Mary Catherine Gallagher is a ditzy loaner. She cracks me up i've seen her run in to the glass on more than one occasion. I definitely named her correctly lol
LOL Nice tank and fish. Have you ever thought about putting the plants in those little tera cota pots I have read that sometimes thats a way to have plants with fish like goldies and chiclids that like to decorate there tanks themselves by rearranging the plants.
I have 3 juvi guppies right now. The one male has a bright yellow tail with black separating the tail from the body and black spots at the end of his tail. I want to call him sunshine but he is a boy. His sister also has a yellow tail with no variations so she may end up sunshine. The other male just has the black at the body/tail. he is a bit smaller though. I have a crap load of fry as well some are still in the actual tank but most are in the overflows getting leftover food but growing well and strong. I will work on getting them out as they get bigger because while they are still small they just go right back in and when I try to get them out they stick to the glass lol.
The sharks are supposed to go after the guppies and neons but mine don't. All my fish have gotten along wonderfully. Even when I had my 2 Black ghost knife fish they got along great even with Hans and Frans. Unfortunately I had tank problems and lost my bgks and most of my neons but since I have gotten the big tank up and running no problems. Well, I may have a guppy problem if the sharks don't get to eating the fry lol.
I don't know if I will ever sell any of my babies. I grow rather attached pretty quickly. I will probably just keep getting more tanks until I decide enough is enough and separate the males from the females lol
