They were a surprise find at one of the better Twin Cities fish stores. They mainly come from Columbia. These eels use to be really common in the late 90's. Long story short Columbia banned the export of amphibians. They still come in from other countries, but no where near as many. First ones I had seen in 5 years. The store only had these two, which I couldn't leave without. They turned out to be male and female. Fun and odd animals to keep. They have lungs so they have to surface every now and then. Good escape artists and can move around quite well out of water.

.... I'm probably drunk.

This is how I lurk

your tanks really lovely. :)

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

Your tank looks nice but I find it a bit unusual to put in those eels with the other fish. How do you feed them?

Everything happens for a reason, but the reason isn't always good.
