Unless I'm mistaken, serpaes have the usual black dot in the middle of their flanks and they are very common. Vicious fin nippers on top of that.
Other tetras that look the same as serpaes though differences are still present are Hyphessobrycon robertsi and Hyphessobrycon bentosi.
oh ok. well these kind of just stay away from other fish since there either bigger or in a crowd.
Size really doesn't matter. Even in large numbers. they have a tendency to attack other fish. They're worse than tiger barbs.
You're lucky though but you have to keep a close eye on them to see any possible nipping.
yeah, i had the koi with my little ryukin but he kept nipping at him so i put him with the other fish and got that oranda. right now im cleaning out this wierd little back room behind my room to make it into my fish room so i dont have to always hear that water trickling sound. hopefully in the next few months ill get everything put in there and have my own fish room!
